Places to Visit: Portland, Oregon
Over the summer of 2016, I traveled to Portland, Oregon & I never really got around to sharing all of the wonderful pictures that my boyfriend and I took.
The reason we traveled to Oregon was for my Uncle Timothy’s 50th birthday. It was an amazing time. In one week we went to the Pacific Ocean, climbed Mt. Hood, visited the Columbia River Gorge, and had a day exploring the city, all while celebrating the birth of my awesome uncle.
Most all great adventures start on a plane.
This first few pictures are of our hike to Ramona Falls. It is a seven mile round trip to get to the falls and back but it is absolutely beautiful and absolutely worth it.
Columbia River Gorge
This next set of pictures is from the Columbia River Gorge.
Three Pools & Opal Creek
The water here was pure and freezing. I didn’t get in until our second stop, but boy was it invigorating.
We went to Mt. Hood on Uncle Tim’s actual birthday.
We had a delicious lunch inside Timberline lodge. After lunch half of our crew decided to climb the mountain (1 mile up), and the other half of us decided to ride the ski lift.
We made a stop at the Pacific ocean while we were there. Even in July it is quite frigid, but the views are unbeatable.
This was my second time visiting Oregon, and like the time before, it didn’t disappoint. If you are thinking at all about going to Oregon, I urge you to go.
