What Christmas Means to Me

What Christmas Means to Me

 Blogmas Day 9

Someone the other day told me that they don’t really get “Christmas spirit”.
& to me that came as a huge shock. Who couldn’t enjoy Christmas?

But then I thought to myself, maybe I look at Christmas a little differently.

I want to take a small moment to try & explain what Christmas means to me.

For starters, Christmas is “magical” in a sense because {in Ohio} it gets colder, and everyone pulls out their winter gear.

During the Christmas holiday season…

…Everything seems to slow down and life seems to go a little slower & in this fast paced world, it is a welcome change.

…Everyone is a little bit more kind to each other.

…Everyone is a little more giving & a little more selfless.

…We sing some of our favorite songs and watch the best movies.

…We have traditions that make us feel a little younger than we actually are.

…We get to enjoy cozy things such as candle-lit rooms, Christmas lights, hot chocolate, and a vast assortments of delicious foods & desserts.

…We get to see our families & take a break from the stress of our daily responsibilities.

All of these things are great & wonderful, but the biggest reason why Christmas has such a big home in my heart is because it’s the celebrations of Jesus’ birth.

Maybe this doesn’t mean anything to you, if you don’t believe that Jesus is anything other than a man in history. But what if I told you Jesus is much more than that?

What if I told you that Jesus {the Son of God} made himself a servant. He was despised and rejected by man. {Isaiah 53:3}

Luke 2:7

And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

I John 4: 14

And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.
