Spring Morning Routine

Update Morning Routine 

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a fantastic Sunday. This post is an updated morning routine since I haven’t shared one with you since October or November! You can read it here: Morning Routine.

I have been trying to implement Self-Care on a Budget and Healthy Ways to Start Your Morning  into my morning routine.

A thing to note while reading this morning routine. I am still in college and don’t start class until noon so I have plenty of time to start my morning. Another thing to note is that not all mornings happen like the one I’m going to show you below. Some mornings I don’t feel like getting out of bed and going to the gym. Some mornings I forget to take my vitamins.

8:30 AM 

I wake up each morning around 8:30 AM without an alarm, it’s just the natural time that my body wakes me up each morning. I have been slowly trying to wake up earlier and earlier each morning so that I can get used to waking up early so its not a rude awakening when I enter the adult world. But I have found that waking up naturally,  without the sound of an alarm blaring in my ear is what I prefer (shocking, I know).

8:35 AM

Get out of bed and stretch. 

I was hesistant to add this to my morning routine because naturally after waking up, at some point, we will all get out of bed. The reason why I added this step is because after waking I used to lie in bed and spend countless minutes and sometimes hours scrolling away on my phone. I have been trying to nix that habit by immediately getting out of bed and stretching. Once my feet hit the floor, I am less apt to get back in bed, cuddle with my blankets and scroll mindlessly.

8:40 AM

Fill up waterbottle. 

I always keep a full bottle of water during my bed, and during the night I inevitably drink it all. To make sure I am continuosly drinking water during the day, I make sure to fill it up first thing in the morning.

8:45 AM 

Eat Breakfast. 

This is sort of self explanatory, but after filling up my water I will eat breakfast. I like to eat breakfast before going to the gym and within 30 minutes of waking up so that I get my metabolism going! I usually just eat a bowl of cereal.

9:00 AM 

Take vitamins. 

When I’m finished with my breakfast, I will wash out my bowl and take my vitamins.

I also take a generic B12 supplement.

I will then digest my food for the next 30 minutes. During this time I will usually write in my journal or catch up on some reading. I have been trying to make it a habit to read my Bible every morning, so I will usually use this time to do that.

9:30 AM 

Gym time! 

It takes me 12 minutes to walk to the gym, so a total walk time of 24 minutes and I spend anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes at the gym. Each day I do cardio for 20-25 minutes and then weight training, abs and stretch for the remaining time. I try to go to the gym between 3 and 5 times a week.

10:45 AM 

Shower and wash face. 

Nothing to explain here, on to the next step. (If you would like a post on my skincare routine let me know and I would be happy to do a post on that!)

11:00 AM 

Get dressed and drink probiotic.

11:10 AM 

Drink Tea or Lemon Water. 

I will use my Keurig to brew some tea or some lemon water to drink while I do my makeup.

11:15 AM

Makeup & Audiobook. 

Like I shared in one of my recent posts: Things I’ve Been Loving, I have been loving audiobooks. They are great to listen to while getting reading in the morning. I have recently listened to Really Professional Internet Person  by Jenn McCallister, and The Maddie Diaries by Maddie Ziegler.

11:30 AM 

Brush Teeth & Make Smoothie. 

After my makeup is done and my tea is gone, I will brush my teeth, wash my dishes and make a smoothie before running out the door. I usually get hungry in class, so if I don’t have time to make a smoothie, I try to grab a healthy snack such as a granola bar or some nuts to nibble on. I make sure to refill my water bottle before heading off to class.

11:40 AM 

Leave for class.
