RATING: ★★★★★

5 out of 5 stars

“Lengard is a secret government facility for extraordinary people,” they told me.

I believed them. That was my mistake.

There isn’t anyone else in the world like me.

I’m different. I’m an anomaly. I’m a monster.

For two years, six months, fourteen days, eleven hours and sixteen minutes, Subject Six-Eight-Four — ‘Jane Doe’ — has been locked away and experimented on, without uttering a single word.

As Jane’s resolve begins to crack under the influence of her new — and unexpectedly kind — evaluator, she uncovers the truth about Lengard’s mysterious ‘program’, discovering that her own secret is at the heart of a sinister plot … and one wrong move, one wrong word, could change the world.

Series? I believe it is!

I was approved for the e-ARC of this book on Netgalley and it sat on my shelves for awhile… and then I decided to start it late one night.

I didn’t want to stop reading.

This book is so captivating, the imagery, the characters, the plot and suspense. It is amazing. This book, on several occasions, made me burst out laughing. It was so enjoyable to read.

Another thing I really enjoyed was that it was written in first person POV, which is something that I really enjoy when reading a book. The majority of my favorite books are written this way.

This cover is the one from Netgalley and it’s different than the one from Goodreads (see blog cover image). I like this cover because it totally makes sense with the descriptions from the story.

Also can we talk for a minute about the blurb that Sarah J. Maas has on the cover?

“Compulsively readable … I couldn’t put it down.”

#1 New York Times Bestselling Author – Sarah J. Maas

Girl, I could not agree more. I cannot wait to continue the story.

I have never read anything by Lynette Noni, but I am adding all of her books to my TBR.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Young Adult fantasy, sci-fi, dystopian or super-natural reads.

If you haven’t read this book, what are you waiting for?

(It was published yesterday!)

About the author (Lynette Noni):

Lynette Noni studied journalism and academic writing at university before completing a degree in human behavior. She lives on the Sunshine Coast in Australia and can be found baking cupcakes, singing along to animated movies, or daydreaming about being swept away to a fantasy world. Some days, she can even do all three at once — and still find the time to sneak in a nap afterwards.

Thanks so much for reading this book review!
