Update on my Goals

Update on my Goals

We are over halfway through 2018. How weird is that? This year is flying by! Since we are near the halway point, I thought I would revisit the goals that I made for myself and make new ones to carry through the rest of 2018.

If you would like to see the full post from January: Blogging Goals 2018.

Goal 1:

My first goal that I listed was to post 1 to 2 times per week.

As you can see in the calenders below, I was pretty successful in posting twice a week. In April I moved to posting three times a week.

So my goal for the rest of the year is to post 3 times weekly. For the month of June I have a good line-up, but I don’t want the amount of times I post to become so overwhelming that it’s not fun anymore.

Multiple people have been asking me for these calender templates that I made, so if you are interested, let me know in the comments and I will work on making a widget where you can download one for yourself.

Goal 2:

My second goal that I made was to schedule posts ahead of time. As you can see above with the calenders, I always schedule my content ahead of time, and it is so much easier to see the month at a glance with the visualization of when each post will go live. This is definitely still a goal of mine for the rest of the year, as it helps tremendously with planning ahead.

Goal 3:

My third goal was to grow my social media. I will have a more detailed post coming up later in the month to show how I track my social media and how I have steadily increased my followings. Stay tuned!

Goal 4:

My fourth goal was to score more sponsored posts, and this is something that I am really proud of. I started reaching out to brands after Creating a Media Kit and I have been using an email template that I created and so far it has been pretty successful.

So far this year, I have done sponsored posts and collaborations with:

Kennebug Jewelry + GIVEAWAY!!

Review (1)

Paperless Post

Paperless Post

Karst Stone Paper: Review

Review (2)

Primula Tea Review

Product Review

I have also reached out to several publishers about different ARCs (advanced reader copies, or uncorrected proofs) and I have received quite a few. Don’t get me wrong, I have been rejected several times, but every now and then comes along a great opportunity and it makes all of the other rejections worth it.

I think I will have a post about how I have reached out to brands and publishers in the next few weeks, so stay tuned for that as well!

Have you goals changed as the year has progressed?

Thanks for reading this blog post!
