Seafire Blog Tour
I am so excited to announce that I am apart of the Seafire Blog Tour!!
Seafire (Seafire #1)
Expected publication: August 28th 2018
4 out of 5 stars
The first in a heart-stopping trilogy that recalls the undeniable feminine power of Wonder Woman and the powder-keg action of Mad Max: Fury Road, Seafire follows the captain of an all-female ship intent on taking down a vicious warlord’s powerful fleet.
After her family is killed by corrupt warlord Aric Athair and his bloodthirsty army of Bullets, Caledonia Styx is left to chart her own course on the dangerous and deadly seas. She captains her ship, the Mors Navis, with a crew of girls and women just like her, who have lost their families and homes because of Aric and his men. The crew has one mission: stay alive, and take down Aric’s armed and armored fleet.
But when Caledonia’s best friend and second-in-command barely survives an attack thanks to help from a Bullet looking to defect, Caledonia finds herself questioning whether to let him join their crew. Is this boy the key to taking down Aric Athair once and for all…or will he threaten everything the women of the Mors Navis have worked for?

My review of Seafire:
The prologue of this book started off in a roaring way, that set the pace for the rest of the book. It was thrilling! Chock-full of independent female characters, fighting, adventure, romance, and a quest for lost family.
I loved the promotion of sisterhood throughout this story.
“On the back of the sea, who do we trust? Our sisters.
When our ship falters, who do we trust? Our sisters.
In a storm of bullets, who do we trust? Our sisters.”
The main character of Seafire is a girl named Caledonia Styx, who is the perfect main character. She is a fierce character who is a captain to 52 girls aboard her ship the Mors Navis. She has strengths, as well as weaknesses, which is part of what makes her such a great character.
The romance in this book was a bit sudden and forced in my opinion.
Overall, this was a fantastic read. I loved the writing and the sisterly affection. This book was so easy to read. It was written in such a way that easily introduced new characters and seamlessly transistioned from one fight to the next.
If you are looking for a young adult read full of adventure and fierce female characters, look no further.
Also, can we talk about the cover of this book? It is absolutely stunning.
Thanks for stopping by and reading this book review!
