April 2019 Wrap Up

April 2019 Wrap Up

How are we already in the fifth month of the year? I have been anxiously awaiting several big things that are coming in the future, but recently I have been trying to do better about intentionally living in the NOW and not wishing for the next thing to happen.

For example, I absolutely CANNOT wait to be married, but I am completely content living life as a fiance for the next three months.

April was a VERY busy month for me and I didn’t read that much. For some reason, audiobooks lost their appeal, and nothing was really calling my name and I DNF’d a few books (Did Not Finish).

So without further ado, let’s get into my {small} April Wrap-Up.

1. Glass Sword(Red Queen #2)

by Victoria Aveyard

You may remember seeing this on my March Wrap Up as a book that I DNF’d, I decided to finish it, and the ending was much better than I anticipated, which brought it up half a star rating. I decided that I am going to go ahead and give King’s Cage a try via audiobook, so we will see how it goes. Have you read this series? Did you like it? Let me know in the comments below.

Rating: ★½ (2.5 out of 5 stars)

2. Wicked Saints

(Something Dark and Holy #1)

by Emily A. Duncan

Rating: ★ (4 out of 5 stars)

Thank you to the publisher for sending me an e-ARC of Wicked Saints!

3. Once & Future

(Once & Future #1)

by Amy Rose Capetta and Cori McCarthy

Rating:  (1 out of 5 stars)

Thank you to the publisher for sending me an ARC of Once & Future in exchange for an honest review.

I ended up DNF’ing this book. I tried so hard to finish it, but I just couldn’t.

4. The Beast’s Heart

by Leife Shallcross

Rating: ★ (2 out of 5 stars)

This book just isn’t for me!

To be completely honest, I was SO excited for this retelling. But here is the thing with retellings, they are so overdone, so if you are gonna write one it needs to bring something new and exciting to the table. This book attempted to do that by narrating the story from the Beast’s perspective. And for me, it just didn’t work.

So all in all, I only finished two books. I am still slightly ahead for of my Goodreads Goal for the year. Hopefully May will be a fantastic reading month!

Thanks for stopping by and reading this wrap-up! What was your favorite book you read this month? Let me know in the comments!
