Travel Blog: Philadelphia

In 2013, my friend Christy Alway and I went to Philadelphia.

As always most great adventures start on a plane..

For this trip, we flew out of Dayton and took the hour and a half flight to Philadelphia. It was my first time on an airplane back in 2013. & let me tell ya, one hour plane flights are my favorite.

As soon as we landed in Philly our first stop was to get a true Philadelphia Cheese Steak (it was delicious, by the way). After eating, we drove around for a tour of the city. We saw the Liberty Bell, met Christy’s cousins and had Rita’s Italian Ice.

On the following day we went to the…

Jersey Shore

We played in the sand & drank in the warm sun across our skin.

On to the next day of our trip:

Arcadia University:

aka – The Arcadia Castle.

At the time, Christy was still undecided on where she would attend college. We went on two college visits while visiting the City of Brotherly Love.

Arcadia University is mostly known for the castle that graces its campus.IMG_2963_Fotor.jpg

The inside is just as beautiful as the outside:

Don’t ya just wanna live there?

Fun fact: You CAN!

There are dorm rooms on the third floor of the castle for students to live in.

That day, we also toured Asher’s Chocolate Factory & Byers Doll Factory.

Friday was spent touring Princeton University, the Betsy Ross House, and the Mint-Coin Factory. We got shirts from a T-shirt store, ate Tasty Cakes and Drexhill Pizza.

Saturday we spent the day exploring the city.

The City:

Always teeming with life and full of history.

We ended the day at Comedy Sportz Club.

My trip to Philly with my life long friend, will always be one of my favorites.

If you have never gone to Philadelphia, I highly suggest it. What are your favorite things to do in a big city? Let me know in the comments!

I hope you enjoyed this travel blog!
