Book Review: Everless
Author: Sara Holland
5 out of 5 stars
If you are someone who enjoys reading books that will keep you on the edge of your seat, flipping page after page, then Everless is the book for you! I read Everless in a day and a half and I was sad when it ended.
Sara Holland has successfully created a world that is magical and enchanting. She seamlessly introduces the reader to the world and the rules of the world. A world where you can bleed time, where you can work for time and pay with time.
I feel in love with Jules, the main character. She has depth to her and I was easily intrigued as she trys to find out who she really is. I really enjoyed the mystery and suspense of the book and the plot twists throughout the book kept me entertained.
This may have been Sara Holland’s first book, but it was absolutely wonderful to read.
If you like books of magic, mystery, and romance, this is a book for you!
All in all, I loved this book and I can’t wait to read whatever Sara Holland comes up with next!
IN THE KINGDOM OF SEMPERA, TIME IS CURRENCY—EXTRACTED FROM BLOOD, BOUND TO IRON, AND CONSUMED TO ADD TIME TO ONE’S OWN LIFESPAN. THE RICH ARISTOCRACY TAX THE POOR TO THE HILT, EXTENDING THEIR OWN LIVES BY CENTURIES.
And no one resents the Gerlings more than Jules Ember. A decade ago, she and her father were servants at Everless, the Gerlings’ palatial estate, until a fateful accident forced them to flee in the dead of night. When Jules discovers that her father is dying, she knows that she must return to Everless to earn more time for him before she loses him forever.
But going back to Everless brings more danger—and temptation—than Jules could have ever imagined. Soon she’s caught in a tangle of violent secrets and finds her heart torn between two people she thought she’d never see again. Her decisions have the power to change her fate—and the fate of time itself.
