Reader Confessions

I got tagged in this Book Tag: Reader Confessions by Life Should Be Lit, so you should definitely go check out her blog! And without further ado, let’s get down to these questions!

1) Have you ever damaged a book?

I am sure I have, which is really sad because books are precious to me. Reading is one of my favorite things to do and a world without books would be such a sad place.

I try to never dog ear the pages, break the spine or tear the pages.

2) Have you ever damaged a borrowed book?

I’m not sure about this one. As a child, I was borrowing books from the library all the time, and there was probably a time where I got food on the pages or something of the sort. Now that I am sitting here thinking about it, I kind of recall, leaving a book out in the rain. I am so sad.

BUT, I’ve never intentionally ruined a book!!

3) How log does it take you to read a book?

This definitely depends on if I am enjoying the book or not! If it is a genre such as Young Adult fantasy and I am into the story, it usually takes me two days or less. If it is contemporary, with characters that I enjoy, I will finish it in two or more days. Things like historical fiction, books with war, and such take me much longer to read. It also is totally dependent on the length of a book.

4) Books that you haven’t finished?

There haven’t been any books that I recently did not finish (DNF). One from awhile ago was Chemistry Lessons.

5) Hyped/popular books you didn’t like?

I didn’t enjoy Red Queen as much as the hype, but I definitely didn’t dislike it! I am generally a pretty easy to please when it comes to reading because I enjoy it so much.

6) Is there a book you wouldn’t tell anyone you were reading?

I don’t think so. The only books I truly enjoy reading, I would have no problem sharing with people. There are some books that have questionable content that I would have a little trouble sharing, only because I skip over overly graphic romantic scenes and curse words and whatnot.

7) How many books do you own?

I own a lot of books, but since I still live at home, there is not an easy way for me to count them. I have books in my closet, books under my bed, books on my dresser, books in my chest and books in the attic. I absolutely cannot wait until I have my own house where I can build tons of bookshelves to be able to display all of my books!

8) Are you a fast or a slow reader?

I’m a fast reader compared to most people I know, but depending on how tired or focused I am definitely changes the pace in which I am reading!

9) Do you like to buddy read?

I like the idea of reading the same book as someone, at the same time, but from different books. I really enjoy sharing the books that I love with my sisters and then being able to discuss the plots and love interests and theories with them. Writing book reviews only goes so far, especially when I try not to share any spoilers!

10) If you were only allowed to own one book, what would it be and why?

The Bible. Hands down, no questions asked. But if I were able to have the Bible and an additional book, I would say The Name of the Wind by  Patrick Rothfuss because its just so good!

Now, its your turn:

I open this up to any and all bloggers who would like to do a book tag!! If you see this and end up doing it, please tag me so that I can read your answers!!
