Goodreads & Book Organization
Recently, I decided to utilize Goodreads to organize my books for me. I added all of the books that I own to my To-Read shelf or in other book lingo the TBR (To Be Read) Shelf. I then created a shelf on Goodreads called Books I own TBR. This allows me to see all the books I own in one place.
I can organize them by the Goodreads rating highest to lowest. I can organize them by Title or Author. My goal is to slowly but surely work through all the books I currently own before buying any new ones. I am currently on a self-inflicted book buying ban until after my wedding, which is in August!
Trey (my fiance) and I have already been working on our monthly budget for after we get married. Every month he gets allotted money for video games, or books, or any other extracurricular activity and I get allotted money for books! The amount that we are giving each other to spend each month is going to start low while we pay off Trey’s student loan debt and save money for our forever home.
I have already created an Amazon wishlist for the books that I am going to buy with that budgeted money. I will link it here: Amazon Wish List
A few of the books that I added to my Goodreads shelf are books that I don’t actually own but currently have checked out from the library and I don’t want to forget about them as I work my way through this list.
There are over FIFTY books on this list that I own, but haven’t read! (Insert ashamed face!).
For those of you who are curious, here is the list: Goodreads Books I Own – TBR
Also, small disclaimer, I realize there are a LOT of Brandon Sanderson books on this list, but I have been meaning to read his books for quite some time now!
Another note: I don’t believe I have ever read a Cassandra Clare book before, which one should I start with?
Which ones should I read first? Any recommendations?
