Update on my March Goals

Update on my March Goals

At the beginning of the month, I shared my goals on Twitter and today I thought I would go over the reason why I made each of these goals and tell you how I’m doing for the month. If you are interested in following me on Twitter –>

I use twitter to share my blog posts, update my followers on my goals and share the progress of how my book is coming along. I’ve been recently loving the hashtags #TheWritingCommunity and #amwriting. If you are an author or an aspiring author make sure to check them out.

Without further ado, here are the goals I shared on Twitter for the month of March:

GOAL ONE:

β˜€οΈ Wake up every morning at or before 7

I wanted to make it a priority to wake up every morning before 7 because I would like to move my workouts to before work, but it will take a LOT of getting used to. To be completely honest, I have not done a very good job at this goal. Most mornings my alarm goes off at 7 AM but I stay in bed scrolling through my phone until 7:20 AM.

Going forward I’m going to try and set my alarm 5 minutes earlier everyday and force myself out of bed. I would love to become more of a morning person, and when summer hits I want to be able to take advantage of every moment of daylight.

GOAL TWO & THREE:

πŸ’ͺπŸ’¦ Work out 4 to 5 times per week

🚫🍭🍬🍫 Cut sweets

This was one of my priority’s this month, as I am trying to lose weight for my wedding in August. I have done a decent job of working out, although it’s been more like 3 to 4 times per week instead of 4 to 5.

Cutting sweets on the other hand has been a complete failure. This is something I really need to work on. I have no willpower when it comes to chocolate, especially when its something I am really craving. When April rolls around this is something that is going to be at the top of my priority list.

Since my heaviest that I weighed during college to what I weigh now, I have lost 15 pounds, which is super exciting but I still have a LONG way to go from where I want to be.

GOAL FOUR:

πŸ“· Have some πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ photo shoots

I have had one photo shoot this month — VIEW THE PHOTO SHOOT. It was for a newborn, which was the first time I’ve ever done newborn photos and it was absolutely life-changing. I loved every minute of this shoot and I even got to hold the baby!

I have at least one more photo shoot this month, so I will try and share the pictures from that in a future post!

GOAL FIVE:

πŸ“š Read 10 books

So this is a goal that I have for myself every single month. Some months I read WAYY more than 10 books (aka 12 or 13) and some months I read WAYY less than 10 books (aka 6 or 7).

This month so far I have finished five books and I plan on finishing at least two more this weekend because I’m close on both of them!

Let’s be friends on Goodreads —-

GOAL SIX:

πŸ–‹πŸ—’ write 20,000 to 30,000 words

This is the goal I’m most excited to update you on today because from the beginning of the month until now, I’ve written 29,489 words!! Which puts my total at a little over 58,000 and my goal for the novel is somewhere around 85,000 as it is a Young Adult Fantasy. One of my April goals is definitely going to be, to hit my word count goal and then to start editing. I would love to begin the query process in the next few months which is SO EXCITING!

GOAL SEVEN:

πŸ’» Post a new blog 2 to 3 times per week

I have been posting pretty steadily on Wednesdays and Fridays. I would love to get back to posting three times per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) but for right now two times a week seems to be the sweet spot with all the other stuff that I have going on. I definitely don’t want to burn myself out.

So those are the seven goals that I shared on Twitter but I had two more personal goals that didn’t make it on to Twitter.

GOAL EIGHT:

πŸ’²πŸ’΅πŸ’°πŸ’²Pay off as much debt as possible

Ever since Trey and I got engaged, we have been working our butts off to pay off as much debt as possible before the wedding.

This past week we were able to pay off a credit card 100% and Trey shredded it. We still have two more credit cards and a whole boat load of school debt to pay off, but our goal is to be debt free by June of 2020.

This is all while we are cash-flowing a wedding, so I am pretty excited about this one. So I guess it goes without saying, but this goal will be on all future monthly goals lists until the debt is gone!

If you are looking for some awesome Financial Coaches, check out Gunston Transformations, I believe they are taking new clients soon! I haven’t taken their class but they are the sweetest couple in the world and will be SO supportive of you and your financial journey. Here is a link to their Instagram — Gunston Transformations. Go and give them a follow!

GOAL NINE:

πŸ“šπŸ“šπŸ“šRequest More ARCs

For those of you who aren’t from the book-world, ARCs stand for Advanced Reader Copies and they are copies of unedited proofs sent out before the books release date to generate a buzz about the book to get people excited! I have recently requested more ARCs from various Young Adult Publishers and the amount of books that I have been receiving in the mail is WAY TOO COOL TO BELIEVE.

I never dreamed that this little blog of mine could turn into a reason that publishers send me books BEFORE they are published because they are interested in ME reviewing their books. HOW COOL?

If you are an author or a publisher looking for a review, please read my Book Policy first!

So there you have it! My APRIL GOALS will be posted on Twitter in the next week or so, so make sure to give me a follow () so that you don’t miss them!

Thanks so much for stopping by and reading this blog post!

xoxo
